How many kinds of disasters and how to prepare for these disasters

There are 3 kinds of common disasters

1. Flood

If earthquakes are sudden, the harsh characteristic of floods is that it can last for days, even weeks. You can figure out if your area is prone to flooding by asking your local council. Floods happen when there is a huge amount of rainwater brought about by a storm and the sewage and drainage system simply cannot control the flow of water.

2. Storm

Storms are probably the most frequent natural calamities, as we tend to face a great number of it each year. What makes it difficult to deal with is the fact that it brings all kinds of dangerous activities and inconvenience such as property damage, power outage, harsh winds, heavy rainfall, and even thunderstorm.

3. Earthquake

Earthquake is probably the most difficult calamity to face, because unlike other natural calamities, there is no saying when exactly an earthquake will strike. It happens suddenly and there is no natural movement we can monitor to make an accurate prediction.

Earthquakes happen when the tectonic plates or faults underneath the ground suddenly slides under the other, thus pushing the land upwards. Therefore, we should have got Earquake preparedness kit in our home before this disaster comes.

Tobe prepare well for above kinds of disasters. We should keep in minds below items

Items should be prepared

1. Food

Food is your primary source of energy, and in the face of calamity, even simple tasks can easily drain your strength. This is why you would need an ample amount of food stored at your home or workplace. However, some food products may not be reliable especially if they’ve been stored for quite some time, since some products do not have long shelf-lives.

2. Water

Water is very important in your survival kit. Dehydration is a cruel thing to experience during an emergency, and it will keep you from doing the most basic things you have to do to stay alive. Be sure to always have at least a two-week supply of drinkable water at home, and if you’re going to evacuate, have at least a gallon per person. This should be enough to last for at least three days.

However, it is important to note that water is just to keep you hydrated. To maintain an adequate amount of strength necessary, you still need food as a source of energy. You can check out our products at Mountain House Food Canada to keep you prepared.

This will keep you informed about how long a disaster is expected to last, and also gain information about local evacuation areas. Be sure to also keep extra pairs of batteries in case the one you’re using burns out.

4. Flashlight

Power outage is very common during calamities and your outlets would be as good as nothing when there is no electricity running through your house. This is why you will need a flashlight to help you move easily in the dark.
